Associated with trust, secrecy and dedication. She is one of the companions or handmaidens of the goddess Frigg.

Name(s): The word fullr is Old Norse/Old Icelandic for “full,” which could refer to prosperity or sufficiency.

Fulla seems likely to be the same being identified as Volla in the Second Merseberg Charm.

Parents: Unknown.

Spouse: Unknown.

Children: Unknown

Affiliations: Fulla is one of the Aesir.

Tales: In Grimnismal, Fulla is the agent sent by Frigg to Geirrod to convince him to arrest the disguised Odin when he arrives to test the king.

In Gylfaginning, after Baldr’s death and residence in the hall of Hel, he sends gifts to his mother, his wife, and Fulla, who receives a ring of gold.

Other details: Fulla is counted by Snorri in Gylfaginning among the Asynjur.

According to Snorri, Fulla is a virgin who wears her hair down, and is adorned with a golden band on her head.

Again according to Snorri, Fulla has charge of Frigg’s box of treasures, cares for her shoes, and keeps her secrets.

In the Second Merseberg Charm Fulla (as Volla) is said to be the sister of Frigg (as Friia) and has healing skills (in this charm, a horse is healed by a group of gods).
