Khepera is an Egyptian god associated with the sun, the scarab, rebirth and creation, change and transformation.
Khepera was strongly associated with the god Ra (Re); while Ra is representative of the noonday sun, Khepera is linked with the sun at its rising. Although he is a very old god, Khepera is not known to have had a cult of his own historically.
Khepera is depicted here as a man with a scarab beetle for a head. He carries the was staff, a symbol of power, in one hand and the ankh, a symbol of life, in the other.
He may also be depicted in the full form of a scarab.
Khepera, ancient one, bright-winged one, wise and shining
heart of the morning sun, I praise and honor you.
