Neith (Nit) is an Egyptian goddess associated with many roles. She is a creator deity, as well as a huntress and warrior goddess, and has a strong connection with weaving.
Neith is depicted here with her particular headdress, a shield representing her strength as a protector; it may also depict a shuttle, which would be appropriate for a weaving goddess. She carries the was staff, a symbol of power, in one hand and the ankh, a symbol of life, in the other.
She may also be shown wearing the Red Crown of Lower Egypt, or bearing the bow and arrow, her particular weapons.
Neith who holds the bow at ready, who keeps
the shuttle close at hand, I praise and honor you.
