Wadjet

Wadjet is an Egyptian goddess associated with protection, particularly of children, and is a goddess of childbirth; she represents Lower Egypt and is often depicted in art along with Nekhbet, who likewise represents Upper Egypt. She is an Eye of Ra, an agent and protector of the sun-god.

Wadjet is depicted here as a woman with the head of a cobra, wearing the red crown of Lower Egypt. She carries the was staff, a symbol of power, in one hand and the ankh, a symbol of life, in the other.

She may also be depicted in the full form of a cobra.

Wadjet who guards the green, warder of the red crown,
protector of children, I praise and honor you.
