With spring here, at least in theory (some of us had a winter storm watch overnight and snow on the ground in the morning!), I think of Persephone, and of Hades her consort. Today I made two sets of pocket-sized prayer beads, one honoring each of them.
The Persephone beads are made of frosted, cracked clear crystal quartz with a silver-toned pomegranate pendant. The pomegranate is perhaps Persephone’s most important symbol in that it represents her agreement that–having eaten of its seeds–she would spend a part of each year with Hades her husband, and a part on the surface with her mother.
The beads are approximately 10.5″ (26.7cm) and cost $27. They come with a prayer to Persephone, written specifically to be used with this prayer bead design and with a cotton muslin bag for storage. You can, of course, use the beads with any prayers, or for any god or gods, that you choose or that resonate with you.
They are available here at my Etsy shop.
The Hades beads are made of black lava stone with a black key attached, reminding us of Hades’ role as keeper of the keys to the underworld.
The beads are approximately 11″ (28cm) in circumference and cost $25. They come with a prayer to Hades, written specifically to be used with this prayer bead design and with a cotton muslin bag for storage. You can, of course, use the beads with any prayers, or for any god or gods, that you choose or that resonate with you.
They are available here at my Etsy shop.
